I’ m really excited to start writing about award travel and money saving opportunities with an Australian perspective. While there are many other great blogs out there such as on boardingarea and milevalue, most blogs are designed with the American market in mind. I reside in Sydney and intend to write about award travel, deal finding in general and whatever else I feel like with a distinctly Australian perspective.
I’ve recently take more interest in miles and points after being a Qantas Frequent Flyer for years after reading http://au.businessinsider.com/us-mint-ends-the-dollar-coin-scam-for-airline-miles-2011-7 or similar and while I tend not to believe in get rich quick schemes I do believe in get rich slightly quicker schemes 🙂
After reading some forums such as http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/ which is a treasure trove of information and some trial and error for what I thought might work as well I’ve accumulated enough points to fly first class to Europe on Emirates which should be pretty amazing and a whole lot better than the Economy China Southern flight that I took last time. I also am flying back in Business with purchased miles for $1400 one way.
I’m hoping to share (some, not all) of my tips and points of view with everyone so that more of you can aspire to cheap and luxurious travel or just save money and time in every day life.
